RCG Onyx® API

RCG has developed a structured approach to integrating clients into the RCG Onyx® API. The order routing API is based on the Financial Information Exchange (FIX 4.2 and 4.4) protocol. If market data is required, RCG can also enable access to our Market Data API. However, market data integration is not required for order routing.

Order Routing
Order routing in the RCG Onyx® API is based on FIX 4.2 and FIX 4.4, depending on what products are traded. To facilitate development, RCG has developed a comprehensive development guide that details supported messages, tag attributes and actions taken in exception cases. Development support and certification are performed by our internal development team. Development can be completed over a simple Internet connection or a secure connection if desired.

Production order routing via FIX is supported only via a secure connection. This can include a site-to-site virtual private network (VPN) or private connection. Details of connectivity options are available on request. A complete list of supported exchanges, contracts and specifications are also available on request.

Market Data
To achieve the ultra low latency required to meet the needs of professional traders and algorithmic trading, RCG has partnered with a market data provider. This has created a distribution capability that connects to native exchange feeds and transmits data using TCPIP across any network. This process normalizes the data for easy integration. RCG provides an API to manage data transmission between the market data gateway and the trading application.
